Are your hips too tight? Do you feel pain and/or discomfort in your hips occasionally? This is not an unusual experience. In fact, there are millions around the world who are suffering from this condition too. So what exactly is the cause of this? Well, stress is definitely one of the main determinants. It is through stress that tension in the hips occurs. However, if you are in reasonably good shape, you can overcome this problem with the aid of yoga.
Yoga is a form of exercise that allows you to attain bodily and mental control as well as well-being. In order to open tight hips, there is this particular pose known as the pigeon pose that is ideal. Furthermore, if you were to practice it regularly, it can help to open your pharyngeal cavity. This particular pose isn’t that hard to pull off. It is actually one of the more simpler ones that beginners can do too.
Firstly, get an exercise mat for yourself. Make sure that you wear something that is comfortable and appropriate, something that isn’t too tight. Next, get down on both your hands and knees in the all fours position. After that, cross your left foot under so that it touches your right hand. Then, stretch your right leg as far back as you can. At this point of time, you should feel the stretch on your right cheek muscle. Always ensure that your hips are square to the front of the mat or any sight line that appears parallel to your hips.
If there is a need to, you can always modify the position of your left foot. Lower the front portion of your body down, so that it is as close as possible to the mat. Take a deep breath, then count to ten before you exhale. Breathing is the key element regardless of what yoga pose you are doing. In fact, it is the foundation of yoga and you will realise that as you advance to more challenging postures, it is the breathing that makes a difference. If you are able to get the breathing right along with regular practices of the pigeon pose, you will be able to feel a sense of relief in your hips. For more details, do check it out here.
